Quikrete Concrete Calculator
Bag counts for QUIKRETE® Concrete Mix, Fast-Setting, 5000 and Crack Resistant using each product's published yield — not a generic premix guess.
Quick answer
A 10×10 ft slab at 4 in needs 56 × 80 lb Quikrete Concrete Mix bags (33.33 ft³ ÷ 0.60 ft³/bag, rounded up). The same pour is 89 × 50 lb bags or 75 × 60 lb bags. Yields below come from Quikrete data sheets (fetched 2026-10-15/16); the calculator uses those numbers with our rectangular volume formula.

Fast-Setting 50/60 lb matches Concrete Mix 50/60 lb counts in the table above. QUIKRETE 5000 and Crack Resistant at 80 lb match the 80 lb Mix column.
Worked example: 10×10 pad, Quikrete 80 lb
Job: 10 ft × 10 ft equipment pad, 4 in thick, Quikrete Concrete Mix 80 lb, 5% waste.
- Volume: 10 × 10 × (4 ÷ 12) = 33.33 ft³ (= 1.23 yd³)
- Exact bags: 33.33 ÷ 0.60 = 55.56
- With 5% waste: 55.56 × 1.05 = 58.33 → 59 bags
Buy 59 × 80 lb Quikrete Concrete Mix bags. At 20×20 the same thickness jumps to 223 bags before waste — past roughly 1 yd³, price ready-mix before you hand-mix.
Formula
Bags = Volume(ft³) ÷ Quikrete yield × (1 + waste%) — always rounded up
Same geometry as our concrete bag calculator; the difference is the yield menu is locked to Quikrete-published numbers (including 50 lb and 90 lb sizes generic premix pages often omit).
Limitations
- Rectangular area of uniform depth only. For round post holes, use the column calculator for volume, then divide by the Quikrete yield for your bag.
- Fence-post counts that subtract the post itself are on our fence post concrete guide.
- Fast-Setting can be placed dry for posts (per Quikrete's sheet); yield still applies to the mixed volume once water is added.
FAQ
How many 80 lb Quikrete bags for a 10x10 slab 4 inches thick?
Volume is 10 × 10 × (4÷12) = 33.33 ft³. Quikrete Concrete Mix No. 1101 lists 0.60 ft³ per 80 lb bag, so 33.33 ÷ 0.60 = 55.56 → buy 56 bags before waste (about 59 with 5%).
Does Quikrete Fast-Setting yield the same as Concrete Mix?
Per bag weight, yes on the published sheets we checked: Fast-Setting 50 lb ≈ 0.375 ft³ and 60 lb ≈ 0.45 ft³, matching Concrete Mix at those sizes. Fast-Setting is sold mainly in 50/60 lb bags, not the common 80 lb Concrete Mix size.
How many Quikrete bags per cubic yard?
One yd³ = 27 ft³. At Quikrete's 80 lb Concrete Mix yield of 0.60 ft³/bag: 27 ÷ 0.60 = 45 bags. At 60 lb (0.45 ft³): 60 bags. At 50 lb (0.375 ft³): 72 bags. At 40 lb (0.30 ft³): 90 bags.
What yield does Quikrete Crack Resistant use?
Quikrete's Crack Resistant Concrete Mix data sheet lists approximately 0.6 ft³ (17 L) per 80 lb bag — the same published yield as standard Concrete Mix and QUIKRETE 5000 at 80 lb.
